It's A Wrap!

It's A Wrap!

It’s really easy to throw almost anything yummy into butter lettuce leaves, but our scaled-down version is full of flavor and healthier than the standard recipe you may already be familiar with.

Simply by swapping out ground beef for cage-free ground chicken, and using mushrooms as the main ingredient, you're making a much leaner food choice.

With lettuce wrapping, there’s no bread, which equals no starch and low carbs. Our tasty bundles are so addictive you’d swear it's probably a more time-consuming project then it really is!

Whisk the sauce, brown the chicken + mushrooms, throw in veggies, and lettuce eat!

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Serving: 6

3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 tablespoon Sriracha
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 ½ tablespoons rice vinegar

2 tablespoons Wellness Please multi-collagen
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
Red pepper flakes, to serve

1 pound cage-free ground chicken
4 tablespoons olive oil
3 scallions fine chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
1 1/2 pounds white mushrooms, cleaned and finely chopped
2 small organic bell peppers of choice, finely chopped

Serve with:
2 heads butter lettuce, leaves seperated

1) In a small bowl, combine the hoisinsauce, soy sauce, Sriracha, olive oil, sesame oil, vinegar, multi-collagen, garlic, and ginger. Whisk together with a fork or wire whisk until blended.

2) In a medium bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of the sauce into the ground chicken.

3) In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and break it up while cooking until browned, 5-7 minutes. Transfer the meat to a bowl and set aside.

4) Add 2 tablespoon oil to the skillet. Toss in the scallions, ginger, garlic, and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Stir in the mushrooms, 5 to 6 minutes. Bring the chicken back to the skillet. Add the bell pepper and the sauce to cook and stir until liquid has reduced and thickened slightly, 3 to 4 minutes.

5) Transfer the mixture to a serving dish or serve from the skillet. Separate each lettuce leaf and set them out. Spoon the chicken mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf. Sprinkle a dash of red pepper flakes on the top. Bon appetit!
